The Full Moon Party Island
Koh Pha Ngan is located just a 20 minute boat ride from Koh Samui and in recent years has become very popular among those island that are considered too big and crowded with tourists. In this island you can find simple and informal atmosphere and many beautiful beaches, quiet coves and small fishing villages, made of typical wooden huts. Here you will enjoy a wonderful relaxing holiday, in contact with the local people very kind and total immersion in nature. You can relax on a white sandy beach and practice snorkelling in one of the many coral reefs that the island offers.The fact that Koh Pha Ngan there are no airports or roads, has preserved the island by excessive property development and hotel business, so leaving intact its natural beauty.
For lovers of the party and the night life, you have to wait the full moon in Hat Rin, one of the main beaches of the island, because every month there is the Full Moon Party or Feast of the Full Moon, one of the biggest beach parties in the world.
Inland there are many amazing waterfalls, these form small but deep pools of water in which to dive and swim. The Thai King were so fond of these places that over the years we stayed 18 times. A particular and curious to get to the falls is to take part in a boat excursion. Still inside the island is the Wat Tham Khao an impressive rock temple situated in a magnificent location on top of a hill, in the temple are often organized meditation retreats.
Because of the seabed is not too deep, Koh Pha Ngan is famous for diving as the nearby island of Koh Tao, but in spite of this you have the opportunity to visit beautiful places and not crowded. Around the island there are numerous reefs great for snorkelling . The most beautiful and profound are found in the west side of the island (the best time to visit is from January to April). Other places of interest are located in the north coast, where there is also off Sail Rock and the Marine Park Ang Thong: a favourite destination for scuba diving. On the island there are a dozen Diving school that will organize your excursions by sea and diving.
Most of the local people in Koh Pha Ngan lives in the small port of Thong Sala dock where arrive the boats from Koh Samui and other nearby islands. The town offers visitors numerous local restaurants, boutique gift shop, travel agency and ATM.

Koh Pha Ngan Beaches
Most of the tourists coming to Koh Pha Ngan stays in beach Hat Rin, which is by far the busiest place of the island: the famous beach of the Full Moon Party. A perfect destination for a last minute, a quick departure for Thailand and a few days of unbridled night-life.
For those who are instead looking for the most peaceful places there are many other beaches, such as Hat Khuat (also known as Bottle Beach) and Ao Thong Nai.
Hat Rin Beach and the Full Moon Party
The most famous beach of the island is part of a small territory which includes a picturesque promontory. This town is full of bars, restaurants and souvenir shops. The beach is famous for its Full Moon parties held every month attracting large numbers of tourists not only from the neighbouring island, but also from other locations across Thailand. For over 20 years the festival attracts lovers rave and involves DJ from around the world. During high season, almost 30,000 people gather in this beach and await the sunrise at a relentless pace, in an environment often animated by lively shows and dances with fire. The party starts around 8 pm, reaches its climax at 11 and continues until late morning. Place of excess and transgression, Hat Rin is more controlled by special teams of police in Bangkok, just in occasions of the Full Moon Party.
Ao Thong Nai Pan
Pleasant bay formed by two creeks, both perfect for swimming thanks to their beach of soft white sand. In this beach you will find some small dive centres and some bar and restaurant.
Hat Khuat (Bottle Beach) e Hat Kohm
Two more beautiful bays of Koh Pha Ngan, Khuat Hat and Hat Kohm are increasingly polar among tourists thanks to the sandy beaches, the sea calm and crystal clear and relaxing atmosphere. These places are ideal for snorkelling .
Hat Chaopao and Ao is Thanu
Located south of Hat Yao, and Ao Hat Chaopao It Thanu are isolated places and quiet, which allow you to admire the wild mangroves and a beautiful lagoon.
